Preserves:

Please take note of the specifications regarding containers and lids for this section. It makes for fairer judging and a better display.

Some useful tips for entering your Preserves:

  • For preserved fruit and vegetables, check that contents are completely covered by preserving syrup or brine, and that jars are properly sealed. 
  • Take extra care in packing fruit, etc, into jars so that it looks attractive. 
  • Be artistic and creative. 
  • With now have two different classes for chutney: one for tomato chutney, and one for any other type of chutney (please name contents). 
  • Make sure your jars and sauce bottles are clean and well filled, and that lids are clean and free of rust or corrosion. 
  • There is a vast array of fruit, vegetables, herbs and spaces that can be used in preserving. So, use your culinary imagination and expertise to create to a masterpiece!

Entries will be accepted from Tuesday 1st January to Tuesday 26th February 2019.
Entries at Milton Showground -
Entries will be taken at the Showground
Monday 25th February 2019 from 9am to 6pm
Tuesday 26th February 2019 from 9am to 6pm
Wednesday 27th February 2019 from 9am to 8pm
Thursday 28th February 2019 from 9am to 10am
Entries & Exhibits must be at the Showground before 10am Thursday 28th February 2019.
